Srinagar, Apr 01 (KNO): Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) will look to bounce back from a narrow defeat as they host Diamond Harbour FC in their second home fixture of the I-League at TRC Ground, Srinagar, on Thursday. According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said after a hard-fought match against Namdhari FC, Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) is set to play its second home game in the Indian Football League (IFL) against Diamond Harbour FC (DHFC) on Thursday at TRC Ground, Srinagar. He said, owned by Arshad Shawl, RKFC is the only club from Jammu & Kashmir participating in the I-League, which has been rebranded as the Indian Football League this season. “Although the team could not secure a favourable result in their previous game against Namdhari FC, losing 1-0, RKFC head coach Ishfaq Ahmad remains confident of a positive outcome against Diamond Harbour FC,” said the spokesperson. “The match is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm, and adequate arrangements have been made.” “Diamond Harbour FC has a strong side and a good coach. This is our second home game of the season, and I believe we have a good chance of getting a positive result. We need to play to our strengths and stick to our plans,” Ishfaq said. The spokesperson said, RKFC comprises local, national, and international players. Ishfaq said that pressure is always part of the game and is what makes football exciting. “Although we have not performed as per expectations so far, I believe that if we get favourable results in the upcoming matches, we can reach the top three on the points table,” he said, appealing to fans to come out in large numbers and support the team. “RKFC player Kamal Issah also expressed hope that the team would secure a favourable result in Thursday’s match against Diamond Harbour FC.
